SWITZERLAND
Since 2021 we have been individually working with a missionary organization in Switzerland and continued this work as a married couple since June 2023. This missionary organization offers different training schools to equip students in their faith. We both have a heart for personal discipleship and walking with students personally in their journey, and therefore we have been part of different schools. We have worked with the School of Biblical Christian Worldview (which focuses on equipping students to be missionaries in every sphere of society) and the Discipleship Training School (which is the basic 6-month course to equip students to Know God and make Him known). We serve in different ways with these schools: we prepare and set up the school, work on the advertisement of these courses, mentor the students during their courses, give teachings, lead outreach and much more! We love pouring into the students’ lives for the few months that they are on our base and leading them closer to Christ.
For the months that we are not involved with a school we work behind the scenes to make the other schools that are running possible! We both work with the media team which is responsible for all things advertisement, social media and communication. Simon is also responsible for the technical equipment on the base and we fulfill practical tasks that need help such as cooking and cleaning. We are a live-learn community and we strive to help each other out where needed to support our students as best as we can!
Next to this, we are also involved with the local church. We have been going to a local church ever since we got married. This church is a German church, but focuses on internationals as well. We have found our home in this church and are looking for opportunities to be involved and active in this church. This church also has a Tamil community which gathers every month. Simon is Indian Tamil (the Tamil community in Switzerland is mainly Sri-Lankan) and loves reaching out to the Tamil community in Switzerland. This is a people group he feels called to reach out to here in Switzerland. He is very active in different Tamil churches and leads worship and preaches regularly in these communities.
